International Genoa Winter Contest

From January 29th to 31st

Three days of racing in the waters off Lido di Albaro mark the start of the competitive season with a key event for the Optimist class.

Genoa’s racecourse, known for particularly favourable wind and sea conditions during the winter months, provides sailors with an ideal setting to compete at a high level and prepare for the season’s major events.

The international participation and the high technical standard of the fleet make the International Genoa Winter Contest a prominent event on the Optimist calendar.

In the weeks leading up to the event, the Yacht Club Italiano also makes its facilities available to participating teams, giving them the opportunity to train in the same waters where the races will take place and to approach the event with focused preparation.
